WILKES-BARRE, PA (December 5, 2025) – The King's College women's swim team earned their second victory of the season with an 84-58 win against Gallaudet University, Friday night at the Scandlon Natatorium. The Monarchs improve to 2-10 overall, while remaining a perfect 2-0 at home.
Abigayle Cryan began the day with a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 18:07.53.
In the 50-yard freestyle,
Stefany Malaga touched the block in first at 29.74 while teammate
Aubrey Gowen swam to the wall in second at 30.40.
Gowen claimed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 1:11.48, while Cryan placed second in 1:30.05, and
Athena Gerlek earned fourth by swimming a time of 1:45.37.
Malaga continued her dominance, earning the first-place crown in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:16.53. Gowen won her second event of the day by placing first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:35.25.
The Monarchs ended the day with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the squad of Gerlek, Malaga, Cryan and Gowen swam a time of 2:27.40.
The Monarchs to the pool tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in a tri-meet with Lycoming College and Penn State Altoona at the Lamade Gymnasium Natatorium in Williamsport, PA.
