READING, PA (February 7, 2025) – The King's College women's ice hockey team fell 3-1 to the Golden Wolves of Alvernia University at the Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex on Friday night. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) loss, the Monarchs move to 5-12-3, 5-9-3 in conference play while the Golden Wolves improve to 11-8-2, 7-8-2.
Abby Barlocker scored the lone goal for the Monarchs.
Barlocker's goal was the first of the game, coming at 8:39 in the first period with assists from
Jordan Dittmar and
Kait Wolf. Kathryn Palmer tied the game at 1-1 with a goal at 15:15 with an assist from Julia Franklin. Each team was issued a penalty for having too many players on the ice through the first 20 minutes of play, but no power play goals were scored.
Palmer scored her second goal of the game at 12:54 in the second period with assists from Franklin and Sydney Bradley. Five penalties came in the second, including four on the Monarchs, but the 2-1 score stood going into the second intermission.
Ani Quindipan was penalized for hooking at 8:53 in the third period, resulting in an unassisted power play goal for Alvernia's Khenzie Connick at 10:31. King's comeback bid came short and the 3-1 score solidified as time expired. Barlocker and Quindipan each had three blocks on the night as Dahl posted 41 saves in net for the Monarchs.
The Monarchs are back in action tomorrow, February 8 for a 2:15 p.m. puck drop at Lebanon Valley College.
