PITTSTON, PA (February 15, 2025) – The King's College women's ice hockey team fell 3-1 to the Wilkes University Colonels at the Revolution Ice Centre on Friday night. With the loss in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), they move to 5-13-3, 5-10-3 in conference play on the season as the Colonels improve to 18-4-1, 16-2-1.
Wilkes got going with a goal from Nina Hudáková at 7:08 in the first period with assists from Lida Laitinen and Hannah Franz. The Colonels led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Brenna Munn was penalized for hooking at 17:52 in the second period, resulting in a power play goal for Wilkes as Haylee Bouchard found the back of the net with help from Hudáková and Laitinen. The Colonels kept the 2-0 lead heading into the third period.
In the third, Renee Ng extended the lead to 3-0 at 4:33 with an assist from Gianna Pacilio. After Angelina Bustos was sent to the penalty box for high sticking at 7:01, junior captain
Maddie Vaughan scored a power play goal at 7:27 with assists from
Amanda Sokol and
Aspen Wallin to get the Monarchs Women's Ice Hockey Falls to Wilkes Friday Night on the board. The 3-1 score in favor of Wilkes stood as time expired.
Sammi Stead,
Becca Allen and
Ani Quindipan all notched two blocks each as
Syd Dahl posted 40 saves in net for the Monarchs.
The Monarchs hit the road tomorrow, February 15 for a 3:30 p.m. contest with the Knights of Arcadia at Hatfield Arena.
