ASTON, PA (February 21, 2025) – The King's College men's ice hockey team concluded their season with a 3-3 tie with the Knights of Neumann University on Friday night at the IceWorks Skating Complex. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) tie, the Monarchs end the 2024-25 campaign 9-14-2, 7-12-2 in conference play as the Knights fall to 15-6-3, 12-5-3.
After a scoreless first period of play, the Knights got on the board first with a power play goal after
Jakub Viedemann was sent to the penalty box for cross checking at 12:34. Max Donohue found the back of the net with help from Tyler Inlow and Luke Croucher to take the 1-0 lead at 13:45. Inlow extended the lead to 2-0, scoring less than a minute later with assists from Tyker Kennedy and Dustin Patterson.
The Monarchs found their groove in the third period, starting with a goal from
Luke Babilon at 8:03 with an assist from
Grant Parshall. The Knights answered back at 9:38 with another goal from Inlow to make it 3-1.
Alexander Ray was penalized for cross checking at 10:10, ultimately resulting in a short-handed, unassisted goal from Walker Cristo. Parshall scored his own power play goal at 14:14 with assists from
Erik Borshchevsky and Ray after Inlow was penalized for cross checking at 12:57 to tie it at 3-3 and ultimately send the game to overtime.
The five-minute overtime period went scoreless and King's won the shootout 1-0. Babilon and
Mikey Harrel Jr. both recorded two blocks on the night as goaltender
Ben Williams tallied 21 saves in net. The Monarchs tied their program record for single-season wins with nine through the 2024-25 campaign.
