DALLAS, PA (February 22, 2025) -- The King's College women's basketball team spoiled Misericordia University's senior day on Saturday afternoon as both
Alli Lindsay and
Lauren Casey finished with double-doubles as part of a 57-54 win in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play. With the win in Dallas, the Monarchs finish the regular season 9-16 overall and 5-9 in the standings, while the Cougars fall to 6-20 with a 4-10 conference mark.
Â
Misericordia (6-20, 4-10 MAC Freedom) had the quick start early with the first five points of the game, but King's (9-16, 5-9 MAC Freedom) went on a 12-3 run to jump ahead, 12-8, with 4:01 to go in the first. The Monarchs answered the Cougars' seven-point spurt as
Cadie Lewis delivered the next five points, and both teams converted a field goal down the stretch as King's held a 19-18 lead after the first quarter of play.
Â
It was again the host Misericordia who had the recipe for success in the second, opening the frame on an 11-4 run. The teams traded baskets over the next stretch before a fast break score in the final seconds from
Layla Orth made it a four-point game, 36-32, in favor of the Cougars at the break.

Misericordia hit a three in the final 1:09 of the quarter, and
Kathy Shepherd hit one from the free throw line as the Monarchs maintained a 50-45 advantage at the end of the third.
Â
The pace of play slowed in the fourth quarter as both offenses stalled. Neither team recorded a field goal over the first 3:12 of the quarter before a jumper from
Gianna Dickson sparked the scoring for both teams. After trading possession in the next 1:53, King's continued to lead, 57-52. Misericordia's Samantha Casey hit a pair at the charity stripe with 2:53 to go, and the Cougars late comeback efforts came up shy as King's went on to win, 57-54, on the road on Saturday afternoon.
