WILKES-BARRE, PA (Feburary 4, 2025) -- On Tuesday morning, Head Coach Caitlin Hadzimichalis and the King's College women's basketball team announced a fun and exciting day filled with Camper Appreciation Day, National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), and their annual True Love Movement game next Wednesday, Feburary 12 at 7:00 p.m. in McGrane Gymnasium.

As the Monarchs tip off against Delaware Valley in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play, they will also host their annual Camper Appreciation and NGWSD Day. Campers are encouraged to arrive no later than 6:45 to cheer on the Monarchs as they warm up for the game and help with the starting lineups and introductions. Campers will be recognized during the game, receive a voucher for a snack from the concession stand, and cheer on the King's women's basketball team in a big-time conference match up. After the game, campers are also encouraged to hang out and eat pizza with the Monarchs!

In addition to the Camper Appreciation and NGWSD Day, the Monarchs are set to host their annual True Love Movement dedication game. The True Love Movement encourages all to help send messages of love and hope to people in our community. We are collecting candy and stuffed animals for the True Love Movement, a community organization with a simple mission: make sure people feel loved and valued all year round but especially on Valentine's Day! The items along with Valentine's Card will be delivered to nursing home, shelter, and group home residents on Valentine's and given out on the streets to our neighbors!

A table will be set up in the lobby of the Scandlon Physical Education Center for anyone who wishes to drop off the candy or stuffed animals or sign cards throughout the game against Delaware Valley on February 12. T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the game, or you can purchase a shirt through THIS LINK to support the movement.
