Patrick Pech secured a win for the King's College men's tennis team in a 6-1 setback to the University of Northwestern (MN) on Thursday morning in their spring training finale. The Monarchs fall to 2-5 overall, while the Eagles improve to 2-7.

Pech returns home with a win at No. 2 singles in a true battle. He fell, 6-4, in the first set to Griffen Jarchow before responding with a 6-2 win in the second. The third was a thriller with Pech coming out on top, 15-13.

At No. 1 singles,
John Toussaint fell by sets of 6-4 and 6-1, while
Cody Zheng dropped sets of 6-0 and 6-4 at No. 3 singles to Sam Majerus. Both
Amir Samadian at No. 4 singles and
Zackary Bedwell at No. 6 singles were downed by a pair of 6-0 sets to their Eagles foes, while
Gavin Hall fell by scores of 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 5 singles to Caleb Jergenson.

In doubles play, Toussaint and Pech fought through a 7-5 setback at No. 1 doubles, while Hall and Zheng at No. 2 doubles and Samadian and Bedwell at No. 3 doubles both dropped their matches by a score of 6-1.

The Monarchs are set to return home to Kirby Park as they host Moravian University on Sunday, March 16 at noon.
