Men's Lacrosse Fall to Hot Handed Immaculata on Saturday Afternoon

WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 22, 2025) -- The King's College men's lacrosse team fell to Immaculata 21-2 in McCarthy Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Mighty Macs (5-5) had all the momentum to start the first quarter as they scored six goals with 5:23 remaining. At 3:27, Josh Hilpp found Jake Cierech to get the Monarchs (0-7) on the board. Immaculata maintained control in the next two quarters as the teams entered the fourth with the Mighty Macs ahead, 17-1.
 
The start of fourth quarter was scoreless as the teams began trading shots. At 7:54, Ryan Lynch found the back of the net thanks to an assist by Cierech. Though Immaculata had every answer and at the final buzzer, King's lost 21-22.
 
The Monarchs ended with 31 shots, 12-19 clears, 42 ground balls, and eight caused turnovers. Cierech and Ryan Lynch collected goals for the squad. Matt Dellapi picked up 10 ground balls. Hilpp and John Wall produced two caused turnovers each to push the defense. In goal, Miles Wilson and Ryan Rickards both had three saves.
 
The Might Macs finished with 42 shots, 19-23 clears, 52 ground balls, and 10 caused turnovers. Joseph Biuso, Bailey Manion, and Ryan Gorman all had five points for their team. Jason Smaron picked up six ground balls with two caused turnovers, a goal, and an assist. On the defensive end, Nicholas DeFilippo and Bradley Mead earned two caused turnovers. Matthew Ludlow started the game with eight saves and Max Cummings iced it with five saves between the posts.
 
King's will have a week break before hosting Alvernia at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th.
