WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 30, 2025) -- In their first match at Kirby Park for the spring season, the King's College men's tennis team fell, 5-2, to cross-town rival Wilkes on Sunday morning. The Monarchs move to 3-7 overall, while the Colonels jump to 4-3.

Patrick Pech battled through his No. 2 singles match, falling in the first set, 6-3, before responding to take the second, 6-2, and third, 7-5, to pick up the win over Cole Riley.
Cody Zheng defeated Donovan Zong in the No. 3 singles match, falling 6-3 in the first before rallying to take the next two, 6-4 and 7-5.

At No. 1 singles,
John Toussaint fell to Nathaniel Rathe 6-4 in the first, defeated the Colonel 7-5 in the second, but fell 7-5 in the third.
Brendan Turowski dropped a pair of 6-2 sets at No.4 singles to Otarhe Okoh. The No. 5 singles match say
Gavin Hall fall 6-1 in the first, win the second 6-4, and drop the third 10-5.
Amir Samadian rounded out singles play with setbacks of 6-2 and 6-0 at No. 6 singles to Jonah Nguyen.

In doubles play, Toussaint and Zheng fell 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Pech and Turowski dropped a 6-4 decision at No. 2 doubles.

Gavin Hall lost their No. 3 doubles match, 6-2.

The Monarchs will be off for the week before opening their Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) schedule on Saturday, April 5 at home at Kirby Park against DeSales University at 12:00 p.m.
