DALLAS, PA (April 9, 2025) -- The King's College men's tennis team picked up five wins in singles play in a 5-2 win over Misericordia University to open Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play in the win column. With the victory, the Monarchs improve to 4-7 with a 1-0 conference mark, while the Cougars drop to 3-6 and 0-3 in the standings.

John Toussaint won his No. 1 singles match in thrilling fashion over Wyatt Fischer, falling in the first 7-5 before taking the next two by a pair of 6-2 scores.
Patrick Pech downed DJ Alexander by scores of 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
Cody Zheng also won an exciting three-set battle at No. 3 singles against Chase Cavangaugh, falling 7-6 in the first before responding with set wins of 6-3 and 6-1 to secure the win. At No. 4 singles,
Brendan Turowski fell 6-3 in the first set before battling back with set victories of 6-4 and 6-2 to claim the match over Christian Mazza.
Gavin Hall claimed the final singles victory for the Monarchs over Noah Ceklosky at No. 6 singles, dropping the first 6-3 before responding with wins of 6-2 and 10-6 to take the win.

In doubles play, Pech and Turowski claimed the only win for King's with a score of 7-6.

Amir Samadian dropped the lone singles match in No. 5 action to Derek Burcik by a pair of 6-4 sets. The Cougars defeated Toussaint and Zheng, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles, as well as
Jacob Nelson and Hall at No. 3 doubles, 6-2.

The previously scheduled MAC Freedom match against DeSales for tomorrow, April 10 at Kirby Park has been postponed due to the impending weather. The Monarchs are set to return to the courts on Saturday afternoon on the road at Arcadia University at 1:00 p.m.
