FREDERICK, MD (March 8, 2025) -- The King's College men's lacrosse team fell to Hood 14-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs are now 0-4 overall and the Blazers improve to 3-0.

Hood had all the momentum in the first half with five goals in 24 minutes of play. King's created several shots on goal but the Blazers defense had every answer. The Monarchs took advantage of a man-up opportunity with 8:16 left of the second quarter when

Jake Cierech to add a tally to the scoreboard. The King's defense pushed through the final minutes of the half, causing several turnovers and a clock violation. The Monarchs were down 5-1 entering halftime.

In the start of the second half, the Blazers found the back of the net two more times with 11:17 left of the third quarter. King's pestered the Hood defense soon after with several shots on goal.
Ryan Rickards collected a save to push for a successful clear. At 7:45,
Zach Webb earned an unassisted goal for the Monarchs. The Blazers had control the rest of the matchup with seven tallies in the final 21 minutes. At the final buzzer, King's lost 14-2.

Cierech and Webb recorded a goal each for the Monarchs. Spencer collected one assist for the afternoon.
Ryan Dolphin had one caused turnover and three ground balls.
Josh Hilpp also had a caused turnover in the matchup. In goal, Rickards produced seven saves and
Miles Wilson had six.

Hood's Jay Lanigan fueled the offense with five points on three goals and two assists. Robbie Willie had four goals, while Rio Muldon collected three goals, an assist, and two caused turnovers. Lucas Strand picked up 12 ground balls and went 17-19 in faceoffs. In goal, Trent Leuba had 14 saves and Calvin Morris had one.
