WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 16, 2025) -- The King's College women's tennis team defended their home court on Wednesday afternoon, picking up their first Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) win of the season, 5-2, over FDU-Florham. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 3-10 with a 1-2 conference mark, while the Devils drop to 1-12 and 0-4 in the standings.

Carlee Dellose battled to a win at No. 2 singles, dropping the first 6-4 before winning the next two by a pair of 6-3 decisions, to topple Ivonne Vargas. At No. 3 singles,
Sarah Stettler defeated Paula Vanegas, 6-3 and 6-2, while
Morgan Eiswerth won, 6-2 and 6-0, over Haidy Abdelmonem at No. 5 singles.
Madeline Sirianni rounded out the singles victories with set wins of 6-1 and 7-5 over Marilu Guzman at No. 6 singles.

In doubles action, Stettler and
Betsy Allen won in the extended match, beating the No. 2 doubles pair, 7-6, while Eiswerth and Sirianni took the No. 3 doubles match, 6-3.

Ashley Kenia fell by a pair of 6-4 sets at No. 1 singles to Meliha Bektesevic, while Allen was downed by matching 6-3 sets by Lindsay Sperling at No. 4 singles. Kenia and Dellose dropped a 6-4 decision at No. 1 doubles to their Devils foes.

The Monarchs will be back at Kirby Park on Thursday, April 24 at 3:00 p.m. as they host Lebanon Valley College in MAC Freedom play.
