DOYLESTOWN, PA (April 26, 2025) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team outlasted Delaware Valley 16-13 on Saturday afternoon in Robert A. Lipinski Field at James Work Memorial Stadium.

The opening quarter was scoreless for the first nine minutes of play as the two Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom teams went back-and-forth. On a free position attempt, the Aggies (6-11, 0-7 MAC Freedom) collected the first goal of the game at 6:44. The Monarchs (5-10, 1-6 MAC Freedom) answered right back as Emily Schultz found the back of the net at 6:23 thanks to an assist by
Maria Schneider. Delaware Valley tied up the matchup soon after, but King's pushed on with three unanswered points that included a goal by
Alli Lindsay and two by
Emilee Schultz. At the end of the first quarter, the Monarchs were ahead 4-2.

The Aggies came back with vengeance with a tally at 14:45 of the second quarter. From then on Delaware Valley pestered King's, but the defense remained composed. After forcing an unsuccessful clear attempt by the Aggies, the Monarchs witnessed Schneider secure a goal at 8:55. Just a minute after,
Chloe Burke got in the action as she found the back of the net at 7:06. With time expiring in the first half, the two adversaries traded goals. At the end of the second, King's maintained a 9-6 lead.

Following halftime, Delaware Valley created a 3-1 push to tie the game, 10-10. After a timeout by the Monarchs, the squad responded right back with four straight goals that comprised of Burke, Schneider, and Lindsay with 4:28 left of the third quarter. The Aggies would go on to add two more points to the scoreboard to inch closer to their visitors. The Monarchs were in the lead 14-12 heading into the fourth quarter.

Delaware Valley was not going down without a fight and tacked on a goal at 11:34 to get with one of King's. The two conference opponents battled it out down the stretch, but the Monarchs collected back-to-back goals thanks to
Sydney Stratton and Lindsay to gain a three-point lead with 4:53 left on the clock. Burke produced a caused turnover at 1:28 to help secure a 16-13 win on the road.

King's had 33 shots with 21 on target, while adding 40 ground balls, 16 draw controls, eight caused turnovers, and 22-27 clears. Schneider sparked the offense with four goals, two assists, and six draw controls.
Emilee Schultz had six points on three goals and three assists. Lindsay followed with three goals, two assists, and five draw controls. Burke produced three goals, four draw controls, and five ground balls.
Sarah Schultz picked up five ground balls, two goals, and two assists.
Alyssa Reeber collected 22 saves to tie her career high and added five ground balls.

The Aggies' Ashley Burmingham had six goals, seven draw controls, and 11 ground balls. Kyra McKeegan followed with three goals, two assists, and eight ground balls. Emily Drake had seven saves and seven ground balls between the posts.
