Monarchs Conclude MAC Freedom Series with 15-7 Win over Delaware Valley

WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 9, 2025) – The King's College baseball team overcame the Aggies of Delaware Valley University 15-7 in game three of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom series on Wednesday afternoon at Lipo Field. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 10-17 overall, 3-9 in conference play with the Aggies moving to 3-23, 1-11.

After a scoreless first two innings, Zach Day got the offense going with a double to left field, bringing Jaiden Wanamaker to third base and Troy Neff home. Kevin Kullman followed suit with another double to left field, this time bringing Day and Wanamaker home to give the Monarchs the 3-0 lead.

The next inning, Neff hit a double to center field to score Joshua Quinones and Wanamaker hit another double to center to score Neff. The Aggies tacked on two runs in the top of the fifth to make it 5-2 before the Monarchs ran away with it, scoring five runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to make it a 15-2 ball game through six. Delaware Valley rallied late to score one run in the seventh and four in the ninth, but the comeback fell short and King's secured the 15-7 win.

First year Quinones led the Monarchs with three runs, two hits and two RBIs with fellow first year Troy Neff close behind with two runs, three hits and three RBIs. Connor Reynolds (4-0) earned the pitching win after throwing a scoreless first four innings with two strikeouts, handing Delaware Valley's Nick Covolus (0-2) his second loss of the season on the mound.

The Monarchs head to Annville on Friday, April 11 to kick off another MAC Freedom series, this time with the Flying Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College. The first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m. at McGill Field.
