WILKES-BARRE, PA (May 9, 2025) -- As the conclusion the 2024-25 academic calendar approaches, the King's College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the winners of their annual awards on Friday afternoon. The winners were unveiled this past Tuesday, May 6 at the Senior Send Off event as graduating seniors and members of the department gathered to honor and recognize the 2025 senior class.
Russell Minor-Shaw of the King's football team was recognized as the 2024-25 Male Senior Athlete of the Year. Minor-Shaw was tabbed as the best player the 2024 MAC Championship team, leading the program in every aspect and a pure playmaker. As the starting quarterback, he led the Monarchs to an 18-5 overall record, a Centennial-MAC Bowl Series appearance, a win in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Football Championships at home against Ursinus, and a second round appearance in the NCAA Division III Football Championships. He was named two-time MAC Offensive Player of the Year, two-time All-MAC First Team quarterback, D3football.com All-Region 1 Third Team, and seven-time MAC Offensive Player of the Week. He finished his career with single-game records for longest run from scrimmage and passing touchdowns, single-season records in completion percentage, passing touchdowns, and highest passing efficiency, and career records in completion percentage, passing and touchdowns and ranks fourth in rushing touchdowns and total offense and sixth in passing completions and passing yards.
The 2024-25 Female Senior Athlete of the Year was presented to
Alli Lindsay of the King's women's basketball and women's lacrosse teams. Lindsay is a tough, determined, and program-changing player that has overcome countless adversities throughout her time as a Monarch. She plays with an immense sense of joy and toughness, and she has an innate ability to make all of her teammates better. On the court, she is a two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient and Winter All-Sportsmanship Team honoree and helped lead King's to a semifinal appearance in the MAC Freedom tournament as a first year. In essentially two seasons, she totaled 483 points, 279 rebounds, 148 assists, 66 steals, and 22 blocks and she flirted with a triple-double twice this season. On the field, she is a two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient and the first player since 2022 to achieve 100 career points, totaling 138 points on 85 goals and 53 assists with 92 ground balls, 42 caused turnovers and 154 draw controls. She's made her mark on the lacrosse record book as she ranks 6
th in assists and 10
th in points for a career, tied for fourth in assists fifth in draws won, and tied for sixth in points in a season, and she set a single-game points and goals record with her 12 points on 10 goals and two assists in a dominant win over Wilkes.
The Male Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year award was presented to two winners in 2024-25. The first was
Nick Germano of the wrestling team. Germano maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout his four years and was a member of the King's wrestling team. The history major with a minor in political science and international relations and strategies finished sixth at the 2025 MAC Championships, a three-time MAC Academic Honor Roll Recipient, an NWCA Scholar All-American, and an All-MAC Winter Sportsmanship Team honoree. He is also the President of the History Club and Secretary of the Economics and Business Club. After graduating, Nick plans to pursue a master's degree in education.
Brendan Turowski of the King's men's tennis team was named as the second Male Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year. He also achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA and will graduate early. The political science major with a forensic accounting minor is a two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll and ITA Scholar-Athlete and a CSC Academic All-District honoree. He is also a Certified Academic Skills Center Tutor and member of the Pre-Law Society, Accounting Association, and the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
Ashley Kenia of the women's tennis team was named the first of three Female Senior Scholar Athletes of the Year. Kenia is an English Literature major and achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her career. An active SAAC representative, she was often seen especially at the National Girls and Women in Sport Day clinic and various D3 Week and Diversity and Inclusion Week events.
Also from the women's tennis team was the second Female Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year in
Hailey D'Amato. She posted an impressive 3.99 GPA over her time at King's and competed as a member of the women's tennis team. She was a three-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient, two-time CSC Academic All-District and ITA Scholar- Athlete and a 2023 All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention honoree. The physician assistant major also likes to play pickle ball and volleyball, read, and do yoga.
The final Female Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year, also maintaining a 3.99 GPA throughout her career at King's, was
Victoria Zultevicz of the women's track and field program. She is a three-time MAC Academic Honor Rioll recipient, two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, a 2022 All-MAC Winter Sportsmanship Team recipient, 2024 All-MAC Spring Sportsmanship Team honoree, USTFCCCA All-Region in the 60 Meter Hurdles this indoor season, and owns a silver medal in the indoor pentathlon, three silver medals in the outdoor heptathlon and outdoor pole vault, two bronze medals in the indoor pentathlon and the outdoor 100 meter hurdles. She also has her name etched in the track and field record books in multiple events as both the record holder and among the top-10 times and marks. The biochemistry and molecular biology major with a minor in forensic science was also the Treasurer of the Chemistry Club, member of SAAC, a research assistant to her organic chemistry professor, and works part time at Barnes and Noble.
The Monarch Mission award is presented to a student-athlete from the senior class who was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The student-athlete not only represented their respective team well on and off the field, but also exemplified the King's College mission – King's teaches its students not only how to make a living, but how to live. The recipient of the 2024-25 Monarch Mission Award was
Kenny Monaco from the King's football team. He served as a MAC SAAC Rep, campus SAAC Rep, attended the NCAA Leadership event last year, went to annual Read Across America Day trips to St. Nick's/St. Mary's, and dedicated time to Special Olympics practices by attending weekly sessions over the last four years.

King's seniors will join their classmates at Commencement next Friday, May 16 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township.
