WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 30, 2025) -- Ahead of the 2025 season, Head Coach Brandon Raynor announced a familiar face will return to the sidelines this season as
Gunhvir Singh joins the staff as an assistant coach.
"I have been a part of the soccer program for the past five years as a student-athlete," said Singh. "I am so grateful to be able to stay and join the staff to help the players achieve the playoffs success we have been missing the past few years."
Singh was a five-year member of the Monarch men's soccer team, appearing in 25 games with one start as a midfielder. Despite being sidelined due to injury in 2022, Singh was a loyal and dedicated teammate that provided a constant positive presence and leadership to the team.
A two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient, Singh was heavily involved in the campus community as an HCE Co-Leader, President of the Student Occupational Therapy Association, and member of the Health and Wellness at King's (HAWK) program. He has also spent time as an occupational therapy aide at Professional Physical Therapy and as an assistant in the King's Occupational Therapy Department.
The New Jersey native brings coaching experience in his time with Carteret Soccer Academy as he developed individualized training plans to improve players skills and was very involved in the daily operations of the program over the last four years.
"We are excited to welcome another alum to the staff," added Raynor. "Singh has been a great leader over the years for the program and has always been respected by his teammates. Knowing he will be finishing his Doctorate degree, I asked him to be a part of the staff. While helping out in our Spring and hearing his messaging during our Spring Scrimmages, I knew he would be a great addition to our staff."
Singh obtained his Bachelor's degree in exercise science with minors in neuroscience and psychology from King's in 2024 and is currently in the Doctorate in Occupational Therapy with a Specialization in Leadership program at King's.
Singh's responsibilities will be to coach in training, game preparation, and recruiting as the team prepares for the upcoming 2025 season.
