OWINGS MILLS, MD (September 27, 2025)—The King's College women's soccer team dropped a road matchup against Stevenson University on Saturday by a score of 2-1. With the result, the Monarchs fall to 3-6-1 on the year while the Mustangs improve to 4-2-3 in 2025.
The Monarchs drew first blood late in the first half at the 41:27 mark, as
Olivia Bauer cashed in on a prime opportunity, ripping a shot past the Mustang keeper to put King's up 1–0 just before halftime.
Stevenson led the first-half stats with a 9–5 edge in shots and a 1–0 advantage in corner kicks. Both teams registered two shots on goal, with Monarchs goalkeeper
Courtney Monard making two saves to help preserve the lead heading into the break.
In the 54
th, the Mustangs found the equalizer on a shot just past an extended Monard to tie the game at one apiece.
Stevenson broke the deadlock 14 minutes later in the 68
th, taking a 2-1 advantage with just over 21 minutes to play on a goal from Karly Sheahan.
King's generated a late push between the 80th and 82nd minutes, earning a corner kick and recording shots from Marissa Coleman and
Mackenzie Huffer. Despite the pressure, they couldn't find the back of the net, and the Mustangs held on for the 2–1 victory.
Olivia Bauer led the Monarchs offensively with her first goal of the season with one shot on goal, while
Madison Jellema,
Jessica Juarez, Huffer and Coleman each registered shots on goal.
Courtney Monard made three saves in 90 minutes as the Monarchs fell 2–1.
King's women's soccer returns to action on Saturday, October 4, as the Monarchs open MAC Freedom play against Stevens Institute of Technology at 4:00 PM.
