WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 14, 2025) -- The King's College women's swim team lost to FDU-Florham this afternoon by a score of 123-46. The loss puts the Monarchs at 2-14 overall while the Devils now stand at 5-0 this season.
In the group events, the squad of
Mackenzie Huffer,
Stefany Malaga,
Aubrey Gowen, and
Carla Hidalgo were victorious in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a season best time of 1:57.36.
In the individual events, Huffer placed second in the 50-yard freestyle at 28.33 while
Abigayle Cryan earned third at 40.33. Hidalgo swam a time of 1:14.74 in the 100-yard butterfly as Gowen claimed third in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:05.91.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Malaga placed third as she swam to the wall in 1:21.10. Huffer and Cryan placed second and fourth respectively in the 500-yard freestyle, as Huffer stopped the clock in 6:10.06 while Cryan touched the block in 8:42.54.
Gowen ended the individual events by earning third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:26.84.
The Monarchs return to the Scandlon Natatorium on Saturday, January 24
th, where they will face Moravian University on Senior Day at 1:00 p.m.
