WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 24, 2026) — The King's College men's basketball team fell to Arcadia University, 76–53, in MAC Freedom action on Friday afternoon at McGrane Gymnasium. The Monarchs drop to 4–13 overall and 1–5 in conference play, while the Knights improve to 12–5 and 5–1 in the MAC Freedom.
Arcadia set the tone early, jumping out to a quick 11-1 advantage and steadily building separation behind efficient perimeter shooting and second-chance opportunities.
King's found early offense from solid baskets from
Ben Malley and two three pointers from
Ray Gooley, but the Knights continued to extend the margin, taking a 43–19 lead into halftime. Gooley led the Monarchs with six points in the first half.
Coming out of the break, the Monarchs showed improved energy on both ends, opening the second half with a more efficient offensive attack. Malley continued to lead the charge, knocking down multiple three-pointers, while the Monarchs tightened defensively to hold Arcadia to 33 second-half points.
Despite winning the second half, 34-33, the early deficit proved too much to overcome, as the Knights maintained control to secure the 76–53 victory.
Arcadia shot 44.1 percent from the field, while King's finished at 33.3 percent. The Knights generated much of their offense in the paint, outscoring the Monarchs 40–8 and holding a 45–31 edge on the glass, including a 9–1 advantage in offensive rebounds.
King's made its mark from the perimeter, connecting on 10-of-29 three-pointers at a 34.5 percent clip and receiving 39 points from the bench. Arcadia's ability to convert second-chance opportunities and their 14 points off turnovers allowed the Knights to extend their lead to as many as 33 in the second half.
Malley led all scorers with 27 points off the bench on 8-of-13 shooting, connecting on six three-pointers and adding three rebounds. Gooley chipped in six points off the bench, while
Ben Rodner-Tims finished with eight points and five rebounds.
Devin Kimmick added four points and six rebounds, and
Darren Yost contributed four assists.
The Monarchs are back in action on Wednesday, January 28
th as they head to Center Valley, PA to take on DeSales University for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
