BETHLEHEM, PA (January 17, 2025) -- The King's College women's track and field team competed at the Hounds Classic hosted by Moravian University on Saturday afternoon.
In the field events,
Brandy Varner placed first out of 41 throwers in the shot put with a personal best toss of 13.67m.
Caitlin Kirk finished tenth with a throw of 10.87m, while
Nayeli Moliere placed 17th at 9.89m, and
Dani Rimsky earned 38th at 7.27m.
Varner claimed third out of 42 throwers in the weight throw with a toss of 15.28m, as
Katey Shoemaker finished fifth at 14.91m, and Kirk placed sixth with a personal best throw of 14.70m.
Abby Thompson earned 13th in the high jump at 1.43m and Rimsky posted a leap of 1.38m to receive 16th.
In the track events,
Ali Butcher ran a time of 8.41 in the 60 meter dash to claim fourth in her heat and 19th overall while
Erin McLean additionally placed fourth in her heat with a time of 8.82 to earn 30th, and
Timara Klotz posted a time of 8.79 to place 28th overall.
The Monarchs wrapped up the day with a seventh place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, as the squad of Butcher, Klotz, McLean, and
Kat Smith ran a time of 4:26.87.
The women's track and field team returns to action next week on January 31, as they will compete at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup in Rochester, NY starting at 10:00 a.m..
