Scheckner Collects Third MAC Swimmer of the Week Nod

NEWTOWN, PA (January 27, 2026) -- Following his record-breaking performance in Saturday's 155-58 victory over Moravian University, King's College men's swimmer Connor Scheckner has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

This is the third time the first year has won the award after getting the nod on October 14 and December 9. 

The Woolwich, NJ native opened his day with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke, breaking the Scandlon Natatorium record with a time of 53.87. He broke another pool in record in the 200 backstroke after touching the wall in 1:57.12 to collect another victory for the Monarchs.

In his final individual event of the day, Scheckner completed the 200 IM in 2:00.09 to clinch his third top finish, breaking yet another pool record in the process. He capped off a remarkable performance by anchoring the winning 200 freestyle relay squad of Chase Kubis, Chris Dutko and Kyle McDevitt, who clocked in at 1:34.36.

King's men's and women's swimming returns to the Scandlon Natatorium on Saturday, January 31 for their annual Red & Gold Meet, with the first event slated to get underway at 1:00 p.m.
