Lewis’ Career Night Lifts Women's Basketball Past Lycoming

WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 3, 2026) — Behind a career-high scoring performance from Cadie Lewis, the King's College women's basketball team led from start to finish on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Lycoming University 73–48 inside McGrane Gymnasium. The Monarchs outscored the Warriors in every quarter to earn their seventh win of the season.

King's came out firing from the perimeter, knocking down five three-pointers in the opening quarter to take a 21–16 lead after one. The Monarchs extended their advantage in the second period with balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure, holding Lycoming to just eight points and carrying a 40–24 lead into halftime.

The momentum continued after the break as King's posted its best shooting quarter of the game in the third, outscoring Lycoming 18–11 to stretch the lead to 62–34. The Monarchs maintained control in the fourth, closing out the contest with efficient possessions and consistent rebounding to secure the 25-point victory.

Lewis delivered the best performance of her collegiate career, finishing with a career-high 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting, including five three-pointers, while adding seven rebounds and five assists. Lauren Casey was dominant inside once again, recording 11 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Irelynd Long provided a spark from the perimeter with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including four threes, and Gianna Dickson chipped in nine points, four assists, and two steals. Junior guard Emily Orth made her return to the lineup today for the first time since last season's ACL injury.

Claire Aufiero contributed across the stat sheet with four points, four rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal, while Gabby Marsola added defensive energy off the bench with three points and three rebounds. King's depth was on full display, as 10 different Monarchs recorded points in the win.

As a team, King's shot 39.1 percent from the field and an efficient 40.6 percent from three-point range, knocking down 13 triples. The Monarchs won the rebounding battle 43–38, forced 18 turnovers, and limited Lycoming to 31.6 percent shooting on the afternoon.

The Monarchs improve to 7-4 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday as they open conference play inside McGrane Gymnasium against Lebanon Valley.
