Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women’s Ice Hockey Downed on the Road by Lebanon Valley

HERSHEY, PA (January 9, 2026) -- The King's College women's ice hockey team opened up a two-game Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) road trip to historic Hersheypark Arena, falling 7-0 to Lebanon Valley College on Friday evening. The Monarchs drop to 0-13-0 overall and 0-9-0 in conference play, while the Flying Dutchmen climb to 11-4-0 on the campaign with an 8-3-0 record in the MAC.

King's opened the contest facing early pressure from Lebanon Valley, who opened the scoring at 3:04 of the first period on an even-strength goal. Sammi Stead and Jerrett Tietz immediately responded with consecutive shots, while Riley Kumrow and Abby Barlocker battled to create additional opportunities. Maddie Vaughan and Victoria Fleury-Wright controlled the puck in the offensive zone, generating momentum and keeping pressure off of goaltender Hayley Packer.

At 10:29, the Dutchmen scored again to take a 2-0 lead. King's responded with multiple rapid shot attempts. Stead and Tietz fired shots in quick succession, and Emma Heinrich had a hard attempt that was saved. Brenna Munn blocked another shot during a flurry of play in front of the net, helping King's maintain momentum despite the deficit.

King's faced a pair of penalties midway through the first frame, but were able to kill both off thanks to several saves by Packer in back-to-back sequences. Munn blocked a close-range attempt during one of the penalty kills, keeping the game within the Monarchs' reach as the period ended.

LVC scored 2:55 into the second period, extending their lead to 3-0. King's responded by generating multiple scoring chances, including shots by Vaughan, Barlocker, and Kumrow. Aerie Sanders and Kumrow contributed key blocked attempts during sustained pressure from the Dutchmen.

At 12:06, Lebanon Valley tacked on another goal to bring the score to 4-0. King's continued cycling the puck in the offensive zone and creating rapid consecutive shot attempts, though the goaltender remained strong.

The Dutchmen continued their trend of scoring early in each period, lighting the lamp 2:41 into the third to increase the deficit to 5-0. Despite the goal, the Monarchs continued to put forth a strong defensive effort, picking up blocked shots by Tietz and Munn.

King's was assessed an interference minor just over the midway point of the period and headed to their third penalty kill of the night. After Packer turned aside three shots, LVC finally converted on the powerplay opportunity at 11:46 and added another goal 13 seconds later, putting the score at 7-0.

Lebanon Valley continued to press in the late stages of the final frame, however six saves by Mylei Chowdhry - who relieved Packer in net - prevented further damage before the end of regulation.

Barlocker and Kumrow led King's in offensive production, generating a pair of shots each. In the faceoff circle, Barlocker and Tietz both won three draws.

Defensively, Munn put forth a four-block performance to lead the Monarchs. Tietz followed closely behind with three of her own. Packer made 47 stops and Chowdhry contributed seven as the goaltending tandem finished with 54 saves.

The Monarchs return to action tomorrow in a 7:00 p.m. rematch against Lebanon Valley at Hersheypark Arena.
