HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 3, 2026) -- The King's College men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against Stevens on Saturday evening in Hoboken, N.J. The Monarchs move to 3-5-3 overall, while Stevens moves to 5-1-2 on the season.
After a scoreless first half, Stevens opened the scoring in the 53rd minute when a goal found the back of the net to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead.
King's answered just over 12 minutes later when senior
Cam Jones scored in the 66th minute to even the match at 1-1. The goal marked Jones' first of the 2026 season after missing a number of games recently for the Monarchs.
The Monarchs continued to pressure Stevens throughout the remainder of the second half, with
Santiago Javadpour forcing a save in the 76th minute and
Jackson Nuttall and
Salvi DeBellis each having shots blocked late in the match. King's goalkeeper
Ben Van Valkenburg made four saves to help keep the Monarchs level.
King's finished the match with 11 shots, including four on goal, while Stevens recorded 16 shots with five on target. The Monarchs also earned four corner kicks compared to eight for the Ducks.
The draw marks King's second consecutive 1-1 result and opens the Monarchs' conference schedule with a point on the road.
King's returns to action Wednesday, October 7, traveling to Glenside, Pa., to face Arcadia University at 6:00 p.m. in another MAC Freedom matchup.
