GLENSIDE, PA. (October 7, 2026) -- The King's College men's soccer team battled to its third consecutive 1-1 draw Wednesday night against Arcadia University in the Monarchs' second MAC Freedom matchup of the season. With the draw, King's moves to 3-5-4 overall, while Arcadia improves to 4-3-4.
King's opened the scoring in the fourth minute when
Anthony Ramirez found the back of the net at 3:39, marking his third goal of the 2026 season. The Monarchs carried the 1-0 advantage into halftime.
Arcadia applied pressure throughout the second half, but King's goalkeeper
Ben Van Valkenburg turned aside five shots to keep the Knights off the scoreboard. The Monarchs had several opportunities to extend their lead, including shots from
Joaquin Cedillo,
Santiago Javadpour and
Costa Villano in the final 13 minutes.
Arcadia eventually found the equalizer in the 78th minute on a penalty kick, leveling the match at 1-1.
King's finished the night with seven shots, including three on goal, while Van Valkenburg recorded five saves. Arcadia held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Monarchs return home Saturday, October 10, for another MAC Freedom matchup against FDU-Florham. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Betzler Field.
