HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 3, 2026) -- The King's College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Stevens on the road Saturday afternoon in its MAC Freedom opener. The Monarchs fall to 2-7-1 overall, while Stevens advances to 2-5-3.
The Ducks opened the scoring in the eighth minute, taking a 1-0 lead early in the contest. King's goalkeeper
Courtney Monard kept the Monarchs within one heading into halftime, making several saves throughout the opening 45 minutes.
Stevens added a second goal in the 48th minute to extend its advantage to 2-0.
The Monarchs recorded two shots, with
Sage Snyder putting both attempts on frame. King's best opportunity came in the 60th minute when Snyder's shot was saved by the Stevens goalkeeper.
Monard turned in a career-high performance in goal, recording 12 saves in the game. Her previous career high was 10 saves, a mark she reached twice during the 2025 season.
Stevens finished with 30 shots, including 14 on goal, while earning seven corner kicks. King's was held without a corner kick.
The loss marked the seventh time King's has been shut out this season.
King's returns to action on Tuesday, October 6, traveling to Glenside, Pa., to take on Arcadia University in another MAC Freedom contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
