WILLIAMSPORT, PA (February 1, 2026)—The King's College wrestling team delivered a strong showing at Lycoming's Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Six Monarchs climbed the podium on Sunday, highlighted by one champion, giving King's its largest invitational haul of the 2025–26 campaign.
Shane Kibler – 1st Place - 149 lbs.
Kibler wasted no time getting through the first two matches of the day, winning by fall in the first round against Keystone's Michael Palinkas and Aidan Rehfield of Scranton. The senior continued his dominance in the semifinal bout as he bested Quinton Bartlett in a 15-0 tech. fall to advance to the finals. In the championship bout, Kibler seized the crown in decisive fashion, rolling to a 17–1 technical fall over Utica's Sean Aldrich. The victory locked up first place and 16 points for King's, capping a perfect Sunday in which he won all four of his matches before the third round began.
The title is the second on the season for Kibler as he won the Ned McGinley Invitational to kick of the season on November 1.
Kennedy Thomas – 2nd Place - 157 lbs.
Thomas picked up right where he left off on Saturday, with two dominant wins in a row to kick off his Allstate Invitational. He led off with an 18-2 win via tech. fall against Lycoming's Wyatt Kent before winning by fall against Nathaniel DeCoite of Scranton in the first round. The transfer then picked up a 4-1 win by sudden victory over Scranton's Luke Burke to move onto the championship bout. In the finals, Thomas suffered his first setback as a Monarch, dropping a 12–3 major decision to Lycoming's regionally ranked Korbin Karper to secure second place and 12 points for King's.
Jake Bobersky – 2nd Place - 184 lbs.
Bobersky began his day in the 184 lb. tournament quarterfinals, where he shut out Lycoming's Isaiah Betz in a 7-0 decision victory. Bobersky then punched his ticket to the finals with a dominant 14-1 major decision win against Scranton's Quinten Laughlin. In the championship bout, the sophomore was defeated by regionally ranked Eli Crum of Lycoming, 7-0, by decision to claim second and rack up 12 more points for the Monarchs.
Sam Moffett – 4th Place - 285 lbs.
The first year started his tournament in the heavyweight tournament quarterfinals, where he took down Pitt-Bradford's Cameron Carter-Green by a score of 2-1. The semifinal match saw Moffett lose by fall to Lycoming's Howard Brambley late in the third round. The heavyweight wrestler then moved onto the third-place match, where he lost to Michael Sipps of Lycoming to take fourth and claim nine more points for the Monarchs.
Patrick Horvath – 5th Place- 125 lbs.
The senior dropped his first matchup of the day in a hard fought 2-0 decision against Misericordia's Jaydin Barreto. Horvath then picked up consecutive wins by technical fall over Leonard Cocca of Lycoming and William Olson of Lycoming to wrestle in the fifth-place match. The Belvidere, NJ native then bested Scranton's Joseph Cappello in a 12-6 decision to claim fifth place and seven points for the Monarchs.
Brian Hopkins – 6th Place - 149 lbs.
The junior was defeated by Shkeb Nadir of Scranton in his first match on Sunday by fall at the 6:33 mark. Hopkins found his rhythm with two straight wins, opening with a fall over Scranton's Aidan Rehfield and adding a 10–6 decision against Utica's Matt Bonato to punch his ticket to the fifth‑place match. In the bout for fifth, Hopkins faced Scranton's Shkeb Nadir for the second time and came up just short, falling in a tight 4–2 decision to finish sixth and score six points for King's.
Sid O'Donnell – 133 lbs.
O'Donnell kicked off his Sunday on a strong note, pinning Scranton's Shoaib Nadir at 4:29 in the second round. In his next matchup, the first year fell to Misericordia's Kruz McCusker in an 8-4 decision. O'Donnell bounced back in his next bout, defeating Mark Ortiz of Scranton in a 5-1 decision before concluding his Allstate Invitational by dropping a 14-4 major decision to Phillip Montes of Misericordia.
Freddy Steigerwalt – 133 lbs.
Steigerwalt was dominant in his opening matchup at Lycoming, winning by fall against Penn College's Ryan Fitzsimmons at 2:12. In the next bout against Misericordia's Hayden Best, the Havertown, PA native lost by fall in the first round. The first year's Allstate Invitational came to a close as he lost to Athony Coukart of Lycoming by fall in the first.
Christian Borges – 133 lbs.
The first year opened the Allstate Invitational in style, coming up with a win by fall over Marco Milankovic of Utica at the 3:41 mark. Borges then dropped his next two bouts to Lycoming's regionally ranked Robert Gardner and Charles Arobone of Scranton by fall, wrapping up his tournament.
Angel Avalos – 141 lbs.
In his first matchup of the day, Avalos suffered an 18-4 technical fall loss to Nikosh Marston of Misericordia. The sophomore bested teammate
Jacob Torres, 6-2, by decision in his next bout before closing out the day with a loss by fall to Avery Rosan of Lycoming in the first period.
Jacob Torres – 141 lbs.
Torres was outlasted by Lycoming's Luke Magnani in his first matchup, falling 8-6 by decision in a very tight bout. The senior saw his tournament come to an end in his next bout, falling to teammate
Angel Avalos in a 6-2 decision.
Sean Hazlett – 157 lbs.
The first year was firing on all cylinders in his first bout on Sunday, winning by fall against Joseph DelReal of Scranton in the second round. The first year then was bested by Misericordia's Brady Colville in a 15-0 technical fall before concluding his Allstate Invitational in a 12-6 decision loss to Lycoming's Wyatt Kent.
Jordan Bentley – 165 lbs.
In his first match on Sunday, Bentley made quick work of Muhlenberg's Collin Boldt, winning by fall just 49 seconds into the first round. The junior then dropped his next bout to Donnell Young of Scranton, 16-4, by major decision. The Bristol, PA native wrapped up his day with a loss by fall to Codi Bomboy of Keystone in the first round.
Alex Ballantyne – 174 lbs.
Ballantyne fell in his first matchup to Seth Richardson of Utica by fall before concluding his tournament in a 19-4 tech. fall loss to Muhlenberg's Noah Schlofer.
King's wrestling will look to build on Sunday's standout performance on Friday, February 6 as the Monarchs celebrate Senior Night, hosting Wilkes for a 7:00 p.m. dual at McGrane Gymnasium.
