Late Run Lifts Arcadia Past Men's Basketball in Season Finale

GLENSIDE, PA (February 21, 2026)— The King's College men's basketball team closed out the 2025-26 season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Arcadia University by a score of 79-59. With the loss, the Monarchs conclude the regular season with a 7-18 record and a 4-10 mark in the MAC Freedom while the Knights move to 18-7 overall and 11-3 in conference.

Offense was hard to come by early, as both teams struggled to establish rhythm and combined for just 18 points over the opening eight minutes. King's leaned on its half-court execution to stay level, working the ball inside to Ben Rodner-Tims and Cole Walker while Jaden Hall knocked down a jumper to tie the contest at 9-9 midway through the period.

The Knights began to generate offense off turnovers and second-chance opportunities, briefly edging in front, but King's continued to answer. Ben Malley connected from beyond the arc to give the Monarchs a spark, and Devin Kimmick later drilled back-to-back threes on the wing to erase a deficit and keep the game within a possession at 25-24 with 7:15 remaining.

With under five minutes to play, the teams traded baskets in a tightly contested stretch that featured four lead changes. Sean Forrest hit a three at the 2:07 mark to even the score, and Rodner-Tims muscled in a finish inside to keep King's within one at 1:43.

After a pair of Ray Gooley free throws put King's up 34-33, the Knights converted in the final seconds of the half, sending the Monarchs into the locker room trailing 35-34 at the break.

Kimmick led the Monarchs in the first half with 10 points while King's shot 41% from the field and 50% from three-point range.

King's wasted little time reclaiming momentum out of the break, as Rodner-Tims buried a three on the opening possession of the half to put the Monarchs back in front, 37-35. The teams traded scores over the next several minutes, with Kimmick and Gooley finishing at the rim and Rodner-Tims continuing to establish position inside. A layup from Rodner-Tims at the 16:28 mark gave King's a 43-42 edge, and even after Arcadia responded from beyond the arc, the Monarchs remained within a possession.

The back-and-forth battle continued through the middle portion of the half. Rodner-Tims converted in the paint to make it 46-47, Malley added a layup, and Matt Christian finished inside off a feed from Walker to keep the deficit at a single point. Malley then knocked down a three at the 10:49 mark to tie the contest at 53-53, and followed with another basket in the lane to even the score again at 55-55 with just over 10 minutes to play.

From there, Arcadia seized control. The Knights turned consecutive steals into transition points and strung together a decisive run that quickly turned a tied game into a double-digit deficit. A combination of fast-break finishes, second-chance opportunities, and three-point shooting fueled a 20-0 surge that pushed the advantage to 75-55 with just over five minutes remaining.

Rodner-Tims stopped the run with a strong finish inside and added a pair of free throws, but the Knights lead had grown too large, as Arcadia went on to win 79-59.

Rodner-Tims paced the Monarchs with 16 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Kimmick added 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting and six rebounds. Malley chipped in 10 points off the bench, knocking down a pair of three-pointers, and Forrest contributed six points and two rebounds.

Walker led King's on the glass with seven rebounds to go along with three assists, and the Monarchs finished the day shooting 37.3% from the field and 26.9% from beyond the arc.
