NEWTOWN, PA (February 24, 2026) -- The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its weekly awards on Tuesday morning, with King's College junior Ava Butcher earning MAC Track Athlete of the Week honors.
 
Butcher receives the recognition following a record-breaking performance at Cornell University on Saturday. The junior decimated her own program record in the 400-meter dash for the second time this season, placing fourth overall with a time of 59.99. The mark ranks fourth in the MAC this season and was 0.82 seconds faster than her previous school record.
 
She continued her strong showing by setting another school record in the 200-meter dash, finishing second in her heat and 18th overall in 26.95, trimming four hundredths of a second off the previous best. Butcher's time currently ranks 12th in conference this season.
 
The award marks the first MAC Track Athlete of the Week honor of Butcher's career.
