EWING, NJ (February 27, 2026)—The King's College wrestling team competed in day one of the NCAA Region III Championships on Friday at TCNJ. The Monarchs were led by
MJ Turi as the sole representative to move on to day two.
Sid O'Donnell – 133 lbs.
O'Donnell opened the NCAA Region III Championships with a first-round bye in the championship bracket. In his second matchup, he fell to York's Vincent Paolucci in a 7-1 decision. Moving to the consolation bracket, O'Donnell received another bye before concluding his tournament with a 15-0 technical fall loss to Gettysburg's Torey Falkinburg at 5:24.
Jacob Torres – 141 lbs.
Torres began the Region III Championships with a first-round bye. In his championship bracket match, he fell 7-2 to Eastern's Ryan Mansueto. In the consolation bracket, he received another bye before facing Misericordia's Nikosh Marston, where he was defeated by a 14-1 major decision to close out his tournament.
Shane Kibler – 149 lbs.
Kibler opened the Region III Championships with a loss by fall to Arcadia's Caden Frost at 4:07. In the consolation bracket, he earned a first-round bye before posting a 19-7 major decision win over Ursinus' Sam Teti. He followed that with a win by medical forfeit against NYU's John Mairano. Kibler's season concluded with a 5-0 decision loss to Messiah's Levi Snyder.
MJ Turi – 157 lbs.
Turi opened the Region III Championships with a first-round bye and followed it with a 4-1 sudden victory over Arcadia's Wyatt Leduke. In the quarterfinals, he fell 17-4 by major decision to Gettysburg's Gavin Pascoe. Turi bounced back in the consolation bracket, pinning Marymount's Joshua Wong at 6:43, and will face Colin Menier of TCNJ in the consolation quarterfinals on Saturday, keeping his chance alive to wrestle back to third place.
Kennedy Thomas – 165 lbs.
Thomas opened the Region III Championships with a 17-2 technical fall loss to Gettysburg's Ethan Composto. In the consolation bracket, he received a first-round bye before falling 6-1 to Luke Moore of Delaware Valley, concluding his first season as a Monarch.
Jordan Bentley – 174 lbs.
Bentley received a first-round bye in the championship bracket. In the second round, he fell 18-2 by technical fall to nation No. 1 Hunter Mays of TCNJ. In the consolation bracket, he had a first-round bye before losing 11-0 by major decision to Mark Forry of York.
Jake Bobersky – 184 lbs.
Bobersky opened with a first-round match against Hayden McLellan of Alvernia, losing 18-2 by technical fall. After a first-round bye in the consolation bracket, he was pinned by Joseph McCullough of Delaware Valley at 6:19.
Josh Brown – 197 lbs.
Brown started with a first-round bye in the championship bracket. He was pinned at 4:49 by Sean Cowan of Ursinus in his second-round match. In the consolation bracket, he lost 9-0 by major decision to Tyler Mains of Arcadia.
Sam Moffett – 285 lbs.
Moffett opened with a match against Kaleb Britting of Messiah and was pinned at 5:41. Following a first-round bye in the consolation bracket, he was pinned by Basheer Hadi of Marymount at 2:46.
Turi kicks off action for the Monarchs at day two of the NCAA Region III Championships in Ewing, NJ on Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m.
