ANNVILLE, PA (March 14, 2026) -- The King's College baseball team opened up Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play at Lebanon Valley on Saturday afternoon, dropping a doubleheader by scores of 19-8 and 15-0 at McGill Field. The Monarchs fall to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in conference action. The Flying Dutchmen improve to 5-6 on the season and open MAC play at 2-0.
Game 1 - L, 19-8
After Lebanon Valley struck for five runs in the first,
Connor Reynolds reset the tone by holding the Dutchmen scoreless in the second. The Monarchs punched back in the top half of the third as
Troy Neff walked and advanced on a sacrifice bunt before
Owen Kosar drove him home on an RBI single to put King's on the board, still down 5-1.
Jason Cunha followed with an RBI double and
Jordan Andino tacked on a run‑scoring single to cut the deficit to 5-3. Reynolds was lights out in the bottom of the third frame, fanning two batters to cap his 1-2-3 inning.
King's kept the pressure on in the fourth. With Neff aboard again,
Dominic Carafa ripped an RBI double to make it 5-4. Kosar's RBI groundout pulled the Monarchs level at 5-5. The Dutchmen responded with four in the home half to go up 9-5 and added four more in the fifth for 13-5.
King's continued to create chances:
Jaiden Wanamaker was plunked and advanced into scoring position in the fifth while Neff drew a sixth-inning walk, allowing Cunha to rip a two‑out RBI single to bring the score to 13-6. The Monarchs mounted one more push in the seventh as
Brendan Kopec drew a pinch‑hit walk,
Mikey Timinski poked a pinch‑hit single to right, setting the stage for Kosar and Andino worked back‑to‑back bases loaded RBI walks to set the final at 19-8.
Cunha powered the offense with two hits and two RBI, including the third‑inning double. Kosar finished with three RBI on a single, a groundout and a walk while Carafa and
Kevin Kullman each doubled. Neff reached three times and scored four runs. In total, the Monarchs collected nine hits with seven walks and three hit‑by‑pitches.
Reynolds logged 4.0 innings with three strikeouts and the 1‑2‑3 third. In the fifth,
Ricky Hynick induced a grounder that Kosar and
Miles Carey turned into a 4‑6‑3 double play with
Jaiden Wanamaker on the finish.
Game 2 - L, 15-0
The nightcap tilted early as Lebanon Valley plated three in the first for a 3-0 lead and four more in the second to make it 7-0. Two‑run frames in the fourth and fifth pushed it to 11-0, and a four‑run sixth closed the scoring at 15-0.
The Monarchs' best looks came on extra‑base contact as
Brayden Schoonmaker drove a double to the alley and Carey later added a two‑bagger. Neff reached twice on walks, and Timinski was hit by a pitch.
Christian Galimi drew the start before turning it over to
Justin Hoadley for 3.1 innings in the middle. With a runner aboard in the fourth, Hoadley fielded a chopper and started an inning‑ending 1‑6‑3 double play with Carey and Wanamaker to finish the frame cleanly.
Kevin Regan Jr. handled the sixth to close out the seven‑inning decision.
Schoonmaker and Carey led the bats with doubles, Neff reached twice out of the leadoff spot on a pair of walks, and Timinski reached on the hit‑by‑pitch.
Galimi opened on the mound, Hoadley worked the middle and triggered the 1‑6‑3 double play, and Regan Jr. covered the sixth.
The Monarchs return to Lipo Field tomorrow for the home opener in a MAC rematch with Lebanon Valley. First pitch against the Flying Dutchmen is slated for 1:00 p.m.
