BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 14, 2026) – King's College senior Brandy Varner capped off an impressive weekend with another dominant performance, earning her second All-American honor at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, AL.

Varner earned Second Team All-American honors with a ninth-place finish in the shot put, recording a mark of 13.30 meters in a field of 20 throwers. The senior standout secured her second All-American distinction in what marked the final field event of her indoor collegiate career.

She becomes the second Monarch female athlete to earn All-American in the shot put, as Jill Korgeski placed sixth at indoor nationals in the event with a toss of 13.67 meters in 2019.

Varner kicked off the day by throwing for 12.61 meters on her first attempt to sit in 13th. Varner qualified for the finals on just her second throw, as she clinched the top nine with her best attempt of 13.30 meters. On her third and fourth attempt, Varner threw for 13.24 meters and 12.11 meters which still positioned the senior star in ninth. She was later fouled in her final two heats and remained in ninth to earn her second All-American award.

Zoe Barnes from Southern Maine won the event at 14.84 meters.

Varner's 2025–26 indoor season will be remembered as an unforgettable one. The senior's biggest highlight came at the 2025 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, where she captured titles in both the shot put and weight throw to earn MAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year honors.

Additionally, she finished in second at the AARTFC Championships and claimed all region in the weight throw and shot put. On top of that, she holds the school record in the weight throw after breaking her own record on Friday with a toss of 17.64 meters. Now, Varner becomes the second Monarch to have two All-American accolades.

After the conclusion of the indoor season, the women's track and field team looks forward to competing in the outdoor season. The Monarchs spring schedule is set to be announced in the coming weeks.
