CHESTER, PA (March 28, 2026)—The King's College women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Danny Curan Invitational on Saturday at Widener University. The Monarchs were highlighted by multiple personal bests along with strong placements amongst teams from all three divisions.
On the track,
Ava Butcher placed 10th in 59.09 in the 400-meter dash, while Katherine Smith followed in 18th with a 1:00.27, marking a new personal best. Smith's time was more than a full second faster than her previous best of 1:01.36.
In the 100 meters,
Ali Butcher placed 37th in 13.22, while
Erin McLean followed in 56th with a time of 13.73.
Samantha Adams took 106th in the 800-meter run, running a time of 2:51.65.
In the 200 meters, Katherine Smith led the group with a 19th‑place finish in 26.29, marking a new personal best.
Ava Butcher followed in 28th at 26.64, with
Ali Butcher close behind in 41st after running 27.22.
Erin McLean added a 69th‑place showing in 27.91, and
Dani Rimsky rounded out the group in 110th with a time of 30.28.
In the field,
Katey Shoemaker led the way with a fourth‑place mark in the hammer throw of 49.51 meters, followed closely by
Caitlin Kirk in fifth at 49.33.
Brandy Varner added an eighth‑place finish with a throw of 48.54 meters.
Shoemaker also recorded a ninth‑place finish in the javelin with a throw of 33.18 meters.
In the high jump,
Avery Kosloski finished tied for 19
th after clearing the bar set at 1.45 meters.
Soyer DeLucy placed 28th in the long jump, landing at 4.57 meters while Rimsky took 51
st after a leap to 3.93 meters.
The Monarchs return to the track on Saturday, April 9 as the team heads to Grantham, PA for the Messiah Multi and Invitational at the Starry Outdoor Track and Field.
