INDIANAPOLIS, IN (March 9, 2026) — The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the participants for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday evening. The King's College track and field program will be represented by two student-athletes, as Brandy Varner qualified in both the women's weight throw and shot put, while Owen Foytack earned selection in the men's mile.

For each individual event contested, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. Varner earned her place in the weight throw with a school-record mark of 17.51 meters, which currently ranks 12th nationally, recorded at the AARTFC Championships on March 6–7. She also qualified in the shot put after posting a mark of 13.68 meters, ranking 16th in the nation, at the Nazareth Challenge Cup on January 31. The senior captured MAC Indoor Championship titles in both the weight throw and shot put earlier this season before earning runner-up finishes in both events at the AARTFC Championships.

Varner's selections mark the first time in program history that a King's student-athlete has been chosen to compete in multiple events at the NCAA championships. It also represents the third NCAA championship event of her career, as she previously qualified for the discus throw at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Foytack secured his spot in the mile after running a school-record time of 4:07.41, currently ranking 14th nationally, at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on February 13. Foytack also won the MAC Indoor Championship title in the mile earlier this season, as the selection marks the first NCAA Championships appearance of his career.

The championships will be held March 13-14 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, AL, with competition beginning at 11:00 a.m. on both days. Varner will compete in the weight throw on Friday at 4:00 p.m., while Foytack will run in the mile preliminary round on Friday at 3:50 p.m. Varner will return to action in the shot put on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., and if Foytack advances, the mile final is scheduled for Saturday at 5:10 p.m.
