WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 10, 2026) --Â The King's College baseball team secured their first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom win of the season in dramatic fashion on Thursday afternoon at Lipo Field, outlasting FDU-Florham 14-13 in extra innings. Trailing by one and down to final out, Jaiden Wanamaker delivered a bases loaded two-run single to walk it off in the bottom of the 11th inning. The Monarchs improve to 5-17 overall and 1-12 in conference play. Across the diamond, the Devils fall to 12-15 on the season and 2-11 in the MAC Freedom.
Â
FDU-Florham opened the scoring in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead, but King's answered immediately with a decisive six-run bottom half to seize control. Troy Neff led off the inning with a double down the right-field line before Owen Kosar tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI single up the middle. Jordan Andino followed with an RBI double to give King's a 2-1 advantage before Wanamaker extended the lead with a two-run single through the left side. Later in the inning, Miles Carey added an RBI single before Mikey Timinski capped the rally by driving in a run after being hit by a pitch, giving the Monarchs a 6-1 lead after one.
Â
The Devils chipped away in the second, scoring three runs to pull within two runs. King's limited further damage defensively, picking off a runner at second base to close the frame. FDU-Florham added another in the third to make it 6-5, then swung the momentum in the top of the fourth with a five-run inning, reclaiming the lead at 10-6.
Â
King's began its comeback in the sixth inning. Kosar singled to start the frame and later scored when Kevin Kullman delivered a two-run single to right field, trimming the deficit to 10-8. The Monarchs tied the game in the seventh when Neff and Timinski were both hit by pitches before Kosar reached on a throwing error, driving in two unearned runs to knot the score at 10-10. Tate Pentasuglio followed with an RBI single to put King's back on top 11-10.
Â
FDU-Florham answered with a run in the eighth to even the game at 11-11. King's responded again in the bottom of the eighth, as Joshua Quinones doubled down the right-field line before Neff came through with an RBI single up the middle to tie the game at 12-12. Neither team scored in the 10th, though King's cut down a runner attempting to steal second to end the inning and force another extra frame.
Â
The Devils pushed across a run in the top of the 11th to regain the lead at 13-12, but King's delivered the final answer in walk-off fashion. Kosar opened the bottom of the inning with a single and was replaced by pinch runner Andy Aviles. Jason Cunha followed with a single to left, and after both runners advanced, Tate Pentasuglio was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Wanamaker then lined a two-run single to right field, bringing home Aviles and Bobby Candela to seal the 14-13 walk-off victory.
Â
Kosar finished 3-for-7 with three RBIÂ and two runs scored, while Wanamaker drove in four runs, including the walk-off hit. Neff went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored, Kullman added two RBIÂ during the sixth-inning rally, and Pentasuglio recorded two hits and an RBI as King's collected 18 hits and scored in five different innings.
Â
On the mound, Jacob DiCicco earned the win after working the final two innings, allowing one run while inducing six fly-ball outs. Ricky Hynick was instrumental out of the bullpen earlier, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts to stabilize the game. Defensively, King's recorded multiple runner cut-downs, including an early pickoff at second base and a runner caught stealing in the 10th inning, helping limit extended threats and secure the dramatic comeback.
The Monarchs return to action tomorrow, wrapping up the three-game MAC Freedom set with a doubleheader at FDU-Florham. First pitch in Game 1 against the Devils is slated for 12:00 p.m.
