LEWISBURG, PA (April 12, 2026)—The King's College women's outdoor track and field team competed on day two of the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs were highlighted by multiple personal bests and school records in the hammer throw and 400-meter dash, competing against teams from DI, DII, and DIII schools.

In the field, Katey Shoemaker set the school record in the hammer throw with a powerful mark of 52.88 meters, placing her fourth overall and first amongst DIII opponents. The record-breaking throw surpasses her previous record of 52.07 meters from the River Hawk Invitational a season ago. Caitlin Kirk placed eighth overall and second amongst DIII opponents following her throw to 50.60 meters. Their marks currently stand as the top two throws in the conference.

The Monarchs kept up the pace on the track as Ava Butcher broke the school record in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line at 58.55 seconds to finish 26th overall and third amongst DIII competitors. The time bests her previous school record of 58.65 which she set at last year's MAC Championships. Kat Smith ran to the tune of 1:00.83, good for 51st overall and 10th within the DIII field.

The Monarchs return to action on Friday, April 17 as the team travels to Widener University and the George A. Hansell Track for the Paul Donahue Invitational.
