WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (April 23, 2026) — The King's College women's lacrosse team dropped a tightly contested season finale to Delaware Valley University, 12–10, Wednesday evening at McCarthy Stadium.
King's came out strong, opening the scoring just 1:14 into the contest as Sydney Stratton finished a feed from Brooke Harmonosky. Sarah Schultz followed with a free-position goal to give the Monarchs an early 2–0 advantage.
After Delaware Valley responded, King's regained momentum midway through the quarter when Emilee Schultz scored off an assist from Sarah Schultz to make it 3–1. The Aggies, however, closed the opening frame on a 5–0 run, including a pair of late goals in the final minute, to take a 6–3 lead after one.
Delaware Valley extended its lead early in the second quarter with a man-up goal before Emilee Schultz answered with an unassisted tally to cut the deficit to 7–4. The Aggies added two more goals late in the half to take a 9–4 advantage into the break.
King's mounted a strong response in the third quarter, holding Delaware Valley scoreless while scoring three times. Sarah Schultz netted back-to-back goals—one man-down and one assisted by Emilee Schultz—to spark the rally, and Stratton added a man-up goal off a Harmonosky assist to bring the Monarchs within 9–7 heading into the fourth.
In the final period, Delaware Valley pushed its lead back to four with consecutive goals to open the quarter. King's refused to back down, as Sarah Schultz scored again off an Emilee Schultz assist, and Stratton followed with an unassisted goal to trim the deficit to 11–9.
After the Aggies added an insurance goal, Brooke Harmonosky scored off a feed from Chelsea Lee with 3:14 remaining to make it 12–10. Despite late pressure, the Monarchs were unable to find the equalizer in the closing minutes.
Sarah Schultz led the Monarch offense with four goals and an assist, while Stratton added a hat trick. Emilee Schultz contributed two goals and three assists, and Harmonosky chipped in a goal and two assists.
In goal, Alyssa Reeber made 16 saves over 60 minutes of action.
Delaware Valley held advantages in shots (44–25) and draw controls (14–9), while King's edged the Aggies in clears (20-of-23).
