GRANTHAM, PA (April 30, 2026) The King's College women's track and field team opened competition Thursday on day one of the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Starry Outdoor Track & Field Stadium, hosted by Messiah University. King's currently stands first amongst the field with a team score of 27 points.
Brandy Varner,
Katey Shoemaker, and
Caitlin Kirk had a spectacular day, as the trio finished first, second, and third in the women's hammer throw. Varner took home the gold medal with a mark of 51.15 meters, as Shoemaker got the silver with a toss of 50.98 meters, and Kirk was gifted the bronze at 50.93 meters. First year
Nayeli Moliere debut in her first conference championship appearance by earning 24th in the event at 34.41 meters.
In the women's outdoor heptathlon,Â
Dani Rimsky kicked off day one of the event by finishing ninth in the 100 meter hurdles at 19.35 seconds. Rimsky later went on to place fifth in the high jump at 1.40 meters and eighth in the shot put with a mark of 7.04 meters. In Rimsky's last event of day one of the heptathlon, she ran a time of 29.67 seconds to reach for eighth in the 200-meter dash. Rimsky currently sits 9th overall with 1,713 points, and she will kick off day 2 of the outdoor heptathlon tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., starting with the long jump.
The Monarchs ended the day with a sixth-place finish in the 4x800 meter relay, as the group of
Ava Butcher,
Cecilia Chipriano, Eveyln Sahd, and
Kat Smith ran a time of 10:03.59.
The King's College women's track & field team resumes competition on Friday, May 1, at 9:15 a.m.
