EDWARDSVILLE, PA (April 8, 2026) -- The King's College women's tennis team continued Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom play Wednesday afternoon, dropping a 7-0 decision to Misericordia University at Kirby Park. The Monarchs fall to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in conference action, while the Cougars improve to 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in MAC Freedom play.
Misericordia controlled the match from the start of singles competition, opening at the top of the lineup. Carlee Dellose competed at No. 1 singles and fell to Erin Cridge by scores of 6-2 and 6-2. At No. 2 singles, Kimberly Dinh suffered consecutive 6-0 losses to Teresa Thomas.
Betsy Allen lined up at No. 3 singles and dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Samantha Wallitsch. The Cougars added another point at No. 4 singles, where Miley Caetano fell to Morgan Slusser by matching 6-0 sets. At No. 5 singles, Allison Van Pelt dropped a 6-0, 6-0 result against Emily Holtzapple, while Madeline Sirianni rounded out singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 setback to Carissa Stefanski at No. 6.
Doubles play followed with Misericordia sweeping all three flights. At No. 1 doubles, Dellose and Dinh were defeated 6-0 by Cridge and Wallitsch. Allen and Caetano fell to Thomas and Holtzapple by the same margin at No. 2 doubles. The Cougars completed doubles play at No. 3 with Slusser and Stefanski earning a 6-0 victory over Sirianni and Van Pelt.
King's returns to the court tomorrow afternoon, traveling to Lycoming College for a nonconference road test. First serve against the Warriors is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
