WILLIAMSPORT, PA (April 9, 2026) -- The King's College men's tennis team battled through a full slate of matches Thursday afternoon but came up short in a 5-2 road loss to Lycoming College at Brandon Park. The Monarchs move to 1-7 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 3-6.

King's found success in singles play at the top of the lineup. Amir Samadian earned a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles, defeating Josh Neidert 6-1, 6-4. The Monarchs added a second point at No. 3 singles as Gavin Hall edged Luke Taylor in a competitive match, taking the first set 6-4 before prevailing 7-6 (7-5) in the second.

Lycoming responded with wins across the middle and lower part of the lineup. Logan Tomkins dropped a 6-1, 7-5 decision to Kayvan Shams at No. 2 singles. At No. 4 singles, Zackary Bedwell fell in straight sets to Logan Hammond, 6-0, 6-1. The Warriors secured two additional points at No. 5 and No. 6 singles via forfeits.

Doubles play concluded the afternoon with Lycoming controlling all three flights. Samadian and Hall fell 6-1 at No. 1 doubles to Hammond and Neidert. At No. 2 doubles, Tomkins and Bedwell were topped 6-1 by Shams and Taylor. The Warriors also claimed the No. 3 doubles point by default.
The Monarchs return home to Kirby Park tomorrow afternoon, hosting Penn College for a nonconference match. First serve against the Wildcats is set for 3:00 p.m.
