Four Podium Finishes Highlight Women's Outdoor T&F at Day One of AARTFC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, PA (May 13, 2026) – The King's College women's outdoor track & field team competed at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships on Wednesday afternoon at the Patterson Field hosted by Ursinus College.

The meet was highlighted with one school record performed by the 4x400 meter relay team, along with three podium places from the throwers.

The Squad of Ali Butcher, Kat Smith, Ava Butcher, and Evelyn Sahd broke their own program record of 3:58.13 from the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships with a seventh place all-region podium finish at 3:55.67. Their time was 2.46 seconds faster than their original. Suny Delhi won the event at 3:47.15.

Brandy Varner continued her excellent season by placing second overall in a field of 36 competitors from across the Atlantic region in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.93 meters. Teammate Katey Shoemaker finished behind Varner in third at 50.77 meters, and Caitlin Kirk additionally secured a podium spot by claiming sixth at 49.75 meters. Cheyenne McPeek from Cortland won the event at 53.25 meters.

In the javelin throw, Shoemaker earned 12th at 33.69 meters, as Alexandra Snyder of Misericordia won the event with a mark of 43.45 meters.

The Monarchs resume to action tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., as they compete on the final day of the AARTFC Championships.
