GETTYSBURG, PA. (September 22, 2026) -- The King's College men's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road against Gettysburg College on Tuesday night. The Monarchs move to 3-4-1 on the season, while Gettysburg improves to 5-3.

The Monarchs once again turned in a strong defensive effort in the opening half, keeping Gettysburg off the scoreboard through the first 45 minutes. King's has shown a similar ability to keep games tight early throughout the opening eight games of the season, entering halftime tied or within one goal in several contests.

Against Gettysburg, the Monarchs limited the Bullets to nine first-half shots, with Mateo Chavez Paz making three saves to help keep the game scoreless heading into the break.

Gettysburg opened the scoring in the 54th minute, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. The Bullets added a second goal in the 68th minute on a penalty kick following a foul on King's Mordocher Musinguzi.

The Monarchs recorded five shots in the contest, with two landing on goal. Costa Villano registered two shots on target, while Evan Corcoran, Parker Gordon and Santiago Javadpour also recorded shots for King's. Gettysburg finished with 18 shots, including eight on goal, and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Making his first start of the season, sophomore goalkeeper Mateo Chavez Paz turned in a six-save performance in 90 minutes of action for the Monarchs.

King's returns to action on Saturday, September 26, when the Monarchs travel to face Hood College at 5:00 p.m.
