IRVING, TX (September 23, 2026) -- King's College senior offensive lineman Kaleb Beers has been named a semifinalist for the 2026 William V. Campbell Trophy®, the National Football Foundation announced Wednesday.
 
Beers is one of 206 semifinalists nationwide and serves as King's nominee for the prestigious award, which recognizes the nation's premier football scholar-athlete for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
 
"These 206 semifinalists represent the power of football to develop leaders well beyond the field," said NFF President and CEO Steve Hatchell. "The game challenges young men to compete, lead and pursue excellence, and these candidates have embraced those values in the classroom, on the field and in their communities. They exemplify the kind of leaders the NFF has sought to recognize and develop throughout its history. Our committee has an incredibly difficult job ahead in selecting the finalists, and that speaks volumes about the caliber of this year's candidates."
 
A standout both on the field and in the classroom, Beers owns a 3.67 cumulative grade point average and has earned numerous academic honors during his career. He was named Academic All-MAC in 2025 and is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection, earning the distinction in both 2024 and 2025. Beers has also been recognized on the MAC Academic Honor Roll in each of the last three years.
 
A Double Digit Tough member and four-year contributor along the offensive line, Beers has appeared in 27 career games with 24 starts. A key member of the Monarchs' offensive success over the last two years, he helped King's accumulate more than 8,000 yards of total offense, including 4,184 rushing yards and 3,858 passing yards while producing 83 total touchdowns.
 
During the 2025 season, Beers started all 10 games at center and left tackle, earning a 95 percent season grade while allowing just two sacks. He helped anchor an offensive line that produced 3,387 yards of offense and 30 touchdowns.
 
As a sophomore in 2024, Beers started all 12 games on the offensive line and helped lead the Monarchs to the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship and the second round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship. King's totaled 4,655 yards of offense and 54 touchdowns that season, including 2,553 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground.
 
Off the field, Beers has established himself as one of the program's top leaders. He serves on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), is a coordinator for Athletics Carol Night, participates in the King's Leadership Council and volunteers with Read Across America. In addition to his football responsibilities, Beers also competed for the King's track and field team during the 2025 season.
 
"Kaleb is everything you want in a leader and a player," said head coach Mike Cebrosky. "He's a team-first guy. His work ethic is unrivaled."
 
Earlier this year, Beers became an inaugural recipient of the King's Sports Performance Iron Monarch Award, which recognizes student-athletes who consistently set the standard through exceptional attitude, effort, enthusiasm and leadership. Director of Sports Performance Ross Bowsher also praised Beers' commitment and leadership:
"He shows up every day ready to work and holds everyone around him accountable to a truly high standard," said Bowsher.
 
The National Football Foundation will announce 12-16 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy on Oct. 21. Each finalist will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class. One finalist will be selected as the recipient of the 37th William V. Campbell Trophy at the 68th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 8 and will have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.
