Women’s Soccer Falls to No. 13 Swarthmore on the Road

SWARTHMORE, PA (September 5, 2026) -- The King's College women's soccer team fell to No. 13 Swarthmore College, 8-0, Saturday afternoon at Clothier Field. The Monarchs fall to 0-3 on the season, and No. 13 Swarthmore advances to 2-0 on the 2026 campaign. 

The Monarchs, who entered the contest with an 0-2 record, faced an early deficit as No. 13 Swarthmore opened the scoring in the ninth minute. The Garnet added four more goals in the opening half, including three during a 9:17 span, to take a 5-0 advantage into halftime.

No. 13 Swarthmore continued to apply pressure in the second half, adding three goals during a nine-minute span to extend its lead to 8-0. The Garnet finished the afternoon with a 43-7 advantage in shots and held an 18-4 edge in shots on goal. No. 13 Swarthmore also earned 10 corner kicks compared to two for the Monarchs.

King's goalkeeper Courtney Monard faced a busy afternoon in net, making 9 saves while facing 43 shots. The Monarchs created several opportunities of their own, with Madison Jellema hitting the crossbar in the 55th minute before Maya Parker forced a save shortly afterward. Sage Snyder, Amelia Sarni and Grace Stetz also recorded shots for King's.

The Monarchs return to action Wednesday, September 9, when they travel to face Wilson College at 5:00 p.m.
