Jerry Bavitz is entering his fourth year at King’s College where he serves as Pitching Coach / Academic Enhancement Coordinator.
He brings a wealth of coaching experience to the program, as the 2017 season will be his 43rd year being affiliated with collegiate baseball. During that time, the former four-year Wilkes University pitching standout has done just about everything, including a four-year stint as the team's head coach. Bavitz helped lead Wilkes to three consecutive NCAA regional playoff appearances from 1976-1978, and a berth in the NCAA College World Series in 1976.
Bavitz, who is a featured speaker on pitching at numerous baseball camps throughout the region, has had great success as a pitching coach. Eight of his former hurlers have signed professional contracts, including former Atlanta Brave relief pitcher Kevin Gryboski.
Coach Bavitz also provides presentations on academic enhancement to help improve players study skills and organization.
Bavitz graduated from Wilkes with a degree in Mathematics in 1975. He recently retired from the Nanticoke Area school District where he served as a Mathematics teacher, football - baseball coach and Athletic Director.
