Former King's standout Dan Rutecki enters his first season as an assistant coach at his alma-mater.
A 2017 King's graduate, Rutecki graduated 10th on the Monarchs' all-time scoring list with 1,361 points. In addition, he totaled 699 rebounds, 232 assists, and 116 steals. Rutecki made 47.4 (476-1005) percent of his shots from the field and 81.9 (393-480) percent of his foul shots during his career.
As a senior, Rutecki led King's in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals with 14.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals each contest. He scored in double-figures in 21 games his final season, posting a career-high 27 points against Eastern University. He also tallied a season-high 14 rebounds against Misericordia.
Rutecki was named to the MAC All-Freedom Conference second team for a third straight year. He is a three-time Middle Atlantic Conference Honor Roll selection and was twice named to the MAC All-Academic Team.
An outstanding student, Rutecki was named a first-team College Sport Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American and was the MAC Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
