Pat enters his first year with the Monarch men’s hockey team and looks forward to working with the players and helping grow the program. Originally from Maple Glen, PA Pat spent the past four seasons on the staff at Lehigh University (ACHA D1) and was elevated to Associate Head Coach role starting the 2017-18 season. Pat worked primarily with the forwards, power play units, and developed line combinations. Pat was also heavily involved with recruiting and organizing prospective student-athlete campus visits.
Pat played his college hockey at Slippery Rock University in the WPCHA and was named team captain in his sophomore year. He played in over 100 collegiate games during his time there and saw ice time in all situations. He graduated in 1989 with a dual major, Communications and History.
Following graduation, Pat joined the Cardinal Dougherty H.S. Varsity and Wintersport Royals coaching staffs in the Philadelphia, PA area. After the 1990 high school and DVHL playoffs, Pat had the honor of leading a Junior “B” tournament team into international competition in Russia and Finland.
Since his return to coaching Pat has helped teach new players skills and basic strategy with the Steel Ice Center’s (Bethlehem, PA) in house program from 2010-2013. Also in 2013 Pat joined the Emmaus High School Varsity and Middle School coaching staffs and helped both teams reach the playoffs.
Pat is a strong believer in sound fundamental hockey which includes play making and overall team development and strategy. He is very excited to join the staff and looks forward to working with and learning from Coach Mallaro and Coach Grace.
Pat lives in Quakertown, PA with his wife Jeanne and their two children Dan and Colleen.
