Brionna Johnson enters her first year as an assistant coach at King's College. Johnson is a recent graduate of Wesley College in Delaware where she concluded an outstanding career.
At Wesley, Johnson became just the second basketball player, male or female, to score over 1,000 points and pull down over 1,000 rebounds, finishing her career with 1,457 points and 1,013 boards.
As a senior, she averaged 13.2 points with 8.1 rebounds each game. As a junior she tallied 12.9 points and led the CAC in rebounding with 10.5 boards per-game.As a sophomore, she averaged 16.8 points and 11.7 rebounds, while also leading Wesley to a 77-68 win over King's by scoring 30 points with 17 rebounds in the game. As a freshman, she averaged 16.0 points and 10.6 rebounds to earn CAC "Rookie of the Year" honors.
Johnson is a resident of Smyrna, De., and is a graduate of Smyrna High School where she was a two-time Delaware All-State selection, including state "Player of the Year" honors as a senior.
