KING'S WRESTLERS HOSTING ANNUAL MONARCH INVITATIONAL

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College Monarch Invitational Tournament on Saturday, November 10 in Scandlon Gymnasium is now complete at 12:05 a.m.

York College(117) was the team champion, Wilkes (105.5) was second and Oneonta (104) was third and Army (101) was fourth. The remainder of the team scoring will be included on Sunday as points had to be tallied by hand.

The field of teams includes Elizabethtown College (EC), University of Scranton (SU), Muhlenberg College (MC), Gettysburg College (GC), Wilkes University (WU), SUNY-Oneonta (OU), Centenary College (CC), Messiah College (MS), Ursinus College (UC), Army (MA), Washington & Jefferson College (WJ) York College (YC), SUNY-Morrisville (MU), and King's College (KC).

For King's, defending 133-pound Division III National Champion David Morgan was the Monarchs lone titlist, downing 2007 NCAA qualifier Mike Gummerson of Centenary in the finals by a 7-4 count. King's other finalist was senior Bob Baresse who fell by fall to Josh Wake of Oneonta is 3:21.

Nearly 600 matches took place as the field included 265 wrestlers. The 149-pound weight class had 32 wrestlers to stand as the largest weight class. The 125 and 157-pound classes had 29 wrestlers each while 133 and 141 had 28 each.
