King's Swimmers Fall To Arcadia in Dual Finale

KING'S SWIMMERS FALL TO ARCADIA IN DUAL MEET FINALE

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College swimming teams dropped a pair of close contests to Arcadia University Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

The King's men lost a narrow 108-106 verdict while the women were out dueled 128-99.

In the men's meet, Eric Stencovage posted three individual victories, winning the 100-breaststroke at 1:03.57; the 200-breaststroke with a 2:31.18; and the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:00.02.

Pat Seslar was victorious in the 50-freestyle at 24.17 as well as the 100-freestyle with a 55.11. King's team of Travis Nicolette, Caleb Farrell, Brian Corea, and Pat Seslar won the 200-medley relay with a time of 2:02.46.

The Monarch team of Nicolette, Stencovage, Pat Seslar, and Sean McGenn also won the 200-freestyle relay at 1:38.13.

On the women's side, Sara Schmader also won three events, capturing the 100-backstroke at 1:09.17; the 100-butterfly with a 1:10.18; and the 200-individual medley at 2:33.51

Maggie Nealer won the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:13.42 along with the 500-freestyle at 5:59.84  Jess Thomas won the 100-breaststroke with a 1:21.77.

Caitlin Selitto won the 200-butterfly at 2:42.22 and the 2100-freestyle with a 1:09.17.Jess Thomas won the 200-breaststroke at 2:54.53

King's men concluded the duel meet season with a 5-7 overall and 2-5 in the MAC while the women ended the year at 5-8overall and 1-6 in the MAC.

The swim team will be idle until the MAC Championships February 8-10 at the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center.
